MISCA Community Relief Fund

The Covid-19 crisis has dramatically altered the lives of people around the world, and here on Monhegan we are not immune to its impact.

At the March 2020 meeting of the Board of Trustees, we voted to establish the MISCA Community Relief Fund and placed $5,000 of our general funds into the new account as a starting point. The MISCA Community Relief Fund is designed to assist year-round residents of Monhegan Island with critical housing related costs in times of financial need.

Applications will be accepted starting August 1st, 2020.

Applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis by a five-member decision making committee appointed by the MISCA Board of Trustees. Members of this committee are Mia Boynton, Tara Hire, Jackie Boegel, Jim Buccheri, and Wendy Pendleton. Paper applications are available on the bulletin board at the Monhegan Post Office.
